CHIRON MUSINGS 3

Inspired by famous Philosopher Alan Watts and Psychologist Carl Jung, there seemed to be a magnetic pull to these authors after I had my Chiron return in May 2025. I was always interested in the human condition – to understand others that I interact with but most of all understand my own humanness, my own frailties. I decided to break this up into 2 parts despite them being interconnected, that are your thoughts and emotions, where I will mention the former in this post. I had spoken about in the series on conditioning that humans suffer due to group dynamics. There is the tendency to mentally feel a duty to align to the group rather than your own individuality and you feel you need to honour the group. Humans also suffer from their thoughts and emotions they experience; however, YOU ARE NOT YOUR THOUGHTS OR EMOTIONS. They are conditional phenomena and the mind imagines ownership, believing they are yours. Starting with thoughts, we are only filters of consciousness in which the thoughts arise. In fact, we are consciousness having a brief human experience, being there before we are born and existing after we die according to Watts and Jung. We come into this life forgetting who we are and this is compounded by us attaching achievements and roles, becoming our pseudoidentity, governed by our thoughts. When we come to the end of our life, the attachments and roles and what we cared so much for no longer matter, they dissolve away, and then we start to remember who we are as pure consciousness and spirit. The 9-centered bodygraph, illustrated here, in Human Design is the human genetic matrix. There is a pressure that comes with thoughts and they are there before you consciously know it. Thoughts will continually flow in no matter how much you try to stop them or even try to focus on one thought and nothing else. You can have terrible thoughts about yourself and wish you never had them. You can have terrible thoughts about others, but the main thing is you do not act upon them, not you had them in the first place. So, these thoughts are independent of your mind but again, the issue is when the mind takes ownership for them and thinks it has to do something with them.  The mind identifying with the thoughts, as its own, is why we suffer since it cateogorises them into good and bad, creating narratives and stories to why you have those thoughts. The mind always seeks to have control as it is connected to the Ego as a defensive mechanism to not be blindsided and protected against the unpredictability of life’s circumstances. The mind as I have mentioned at length will always polarize you into this or that, claiming some logical, common-sense element to it. This is purely subjective so once you are aware of this, the goal around Chiron, in particular, is to develop the objective perspective, to see things as this and that. The world is polarizing and especially with the algorithms of social media. They will push you to one side or the other, never giving you the full story, only the one you originally click on and then the algorithms will follow suit with that choice. To attempt to see the other side or even forgo it is seen as a weakness by the not-self mind. This is why people will then hold onto dogmatic beliefs and opinions even when they have not personally experienced something for themselves – this is where your truth lies. This is why in Human Design the mind cannot be used as an instrument for decision making. The mind is too heavily conditioned and subjective to decide what is correct for you. This is the responsibility of the body through feeling. This is the body’s life, not the mind’s life and the body can switch between sides objectively as it is only interested in what is correct. This can be seen as a contradiction by the mind, but the body is not concerned with keeping up appearances, again, only that which is correct for you and your truth.
