So I want to tie up the sleep series with saying that depending on your Type of design, there is an ideal method to maintain the integrity of the design. See we all have an aura that is a physical extension of our body and that is what defines what Type we are. In Human Design, your Type is determined 2 days post-conception and your aura is built and completed by the end of the 2nd trimester of pregnancy. As you can appreciate, you have no choice just like you have no choice with your genetic phenotype. This is why we need to understand we are all helpless as human beings but it is not a problem, it is just being realistic. So returning to the body, it has a unique physiology that is different for each and every one of us. There are nuances in the design that optimise our brain cognition and body’s physiology.

When we look at sleep, it is a more generalised approach to all people with a particular design. We know sleep is important for our health and well-being and we probably spend a third of our lives doing it. Human Design, among many things, looks at our auric integrity so when we are in the presence of another, we take on their energy, their conditioning for good and for bad. At least when you are awake, you can move away from someone or something that you do not feel comfortable with. When you are asleep, you are unconscious, and you can be taking that full conditioning in aurically and you are basically defenseless. When you wake up, you wake up as a couple not as the individual and you may not have had as restful night’s sleep. If your partner has stressful things going on in their lives, then you take that into your aura too.

It is recommended that open Sacral beings (Projectors, Manifestors and Reflectors) sleep alone as they will amplify the power of the Sacral center where you will have a 70% chance of having a Generator partner. So Human Design is in the application of the knowledge, it is not mental, it is not a belief system. To gain your evidence of how it works for you, try sleeping alone and see how you sleep and how you wake up. Communication is the key so express there is not a problem with your relationship, it is to experiment and work with the uniqueness of your body to see how you feel. Feelings come from the body, not the Mind, this is not about what you think is moral or not, good or bad. It is really about you understanding you better, what works for you and what does not.
